Writing for the Web:
website pages, landing pages and/or blogs

Fact
: Website visitors don’t read web pages from start to finish. They scan or browse, sometimes reading only the first few words on a page before deciding if they will read on or move on. To help them absorb information, you need to use writing techniques that capture the attention of surfers and allow them to quickly find and scan/read the information they want.

Writing for the Web introduces you to the formal writing process and demonstrates how to apply the process when writing content for website pages and landing pages (pages you direct visitors to when promoting a product or service). The workshop
  • Outlines how most people read online (they call it a “browser” for a reason)
  • Presents techniques to help visitors quickly scan and absorb your web content
  • Helps you structure information-oriented web copy
  • Shows you how to write promotional copy that motivates ‘clicks’
  • Demonstrates how to harness the power of hyper-links to motivate readers to dig deeper for more information.
The workshop can also provide an overview of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Twitter (tweets), and blogging to show you how SEO, tweets and blog posts can capture the attention of web surfers and drive traffic to specific pages on your website.

Media Interview Training:
interview preparation and/or social media

Whether you are seeking media attention or journalists are calling due to an issue in your industry or with your organization, you should be trained to answer questions from reporters. This seminar, which includes key message development, taped interviews and detailed feedback, will ensure you are prepared to face the media--whether reporters are tossing soft lobs at you or bombarding your with difficult questions.
